Rules
Empires is a simple word guessing game for groups that works best when you have between 5-12 people.
The aim of the game is to build your Empire! Answer simple questions and guess who said what!
How to play
-
1
First, one person chooses the question you want the group to answer.
-
2
Every member of the group enters an answer. Make sure not to tell each other what you’re writing!
-
3
Whoever chose the question then reveals the answers and reads them out to the group only once.
-
4
Whoever read out the answers takes a guess at who wrote a response.
-
5
If the guess was correct, the person becomes part of your empire and can help you guess the rest of the players.
-
6
If the guess was incorrect, the person who was guessed takes control of the game and guesses someone else.
-
7
The game ends when one players empire controls all other players! The winning player gets to choose the question for the next round.
What if...?
-
What if I can’t remember any answer to guess?
Guess a random word for another player and they will control the game.
-
What if someone is taking forever to make a guess?
Make them hurry up! Empires is a short, rapid fire game where you can have lots of rounds. Each round should only last 10 minutes.
-
What if there are only 2 players unguessed and we can’t remember each other’s answer?
Take turns revealing one sequential letter from your answer until one of you remembers.
-
What if someone guesses me as the same thing incorrectly more than once?
They should have been paying attention! You now control the game.
-
Do I have to answer the questions honestly?
Nope! You can try and trick the group into thinking the response was from someone else.
-
What if someone guesses my answer almost correct?
Use your discretion! It’s up to you how seriously you want to play.
